So I guess I missed that.
All the forum I look at do a really bad job of putting the 'Date and time of post' front and center, some forums seem to think how long you have been a member is more important to see 'up front'.
So it long like Mummi bought the boat Ron looked at.
I logo forward to his postings on his progress.

So another question...what gets some Albins in to such bad shape? We know they were not the best made boats but was it the low cost that meant the first or second owner had so little invested in the boat that they could just loose interest and walk away...... It's always suprised me how boats can get so bad so fast, it's not just Albins.

It suprises me too, Warren.
When working on a friends boat years ago in a boat yard I was amazed to see ten year old yachts coming in for osmosis treatment. Filthy dirty, fouled hull, canvas tatty, ropes so stiff and dirty they were hard to bend! One owner said to me 'I bought a plastic boat because there would be no maintenance'!
Nuff said.
Happy Christmas everybody.

I don't think its a problem unique to albins. I looked at a henriques and a Viking that were 10 and 17 yrs old respectively and they were both in worse shape than than the 18 year old Albin I ended up buying...and both of those boats were significantly more expensive than the Albin I bought

I truly enjoy working on this boat... I went back and looked at the list that made Capt. Ron walk away. It serves as a reminder of the things that one person will see as deal breakers and another as challenges to be over come. Sprig every time I see her sitting there, I see what will come as opposed to the layer of dirt and decay. Her lines are beautiful. Her weaknesses are slowly being fixed. As Don pointed out, after the fix(es) she will be better than the day she rolled out the factory door.
