tach

Post by kjg1951 »

I have a 1983 36 albin trawler which has and was installed by the PO,a sterling power products the advanced alternator regulator Pro-Digital... the tach has been working fine until today... I am told it has somr=ething to do with the Pro-Digital reulator. What should I look for or check to determine why the tach does not work ? thank you for you help. I tried to read the manual but it is greek to me!!!!

Kevin - I don't think your tach not working has anything to do with your voltage regulator. And since yours in an '83, I'm assuming your tach(s) is/are mechanical (VDO) vs. digital. Do you know where your tach's "send" terminal is getting it's signal from? The wiring diagram in this link doesn't show a connection to a tach: http://www.sterling-power-usa.com/libra ... iagram.pdf.
