Re: outriggers
I have a set of rupp outriggers on shady lady. I haven't used them, but the PO had them put on in 98 and they still function as new. Just had to put on new rigging (just the rope and swivels. The qr were fine) but other than that they look great.

Re: outriggers
Qr - quick releases, the ones that hold the fishing line
I don't actually know the length, I never measured but I'd say prob around 20ft or so not counting the mounts.
The mounts are to the best of my knowledge rupp sidewinders, really like them, easy to adjust and told down for bridges/etc

Re: outriggers
I have the Rupp "Sidekick" bases with 20 ft. single spreader poles on my 31TE and had the Sidekicks on the 28TE too, but with 18 ft. single spreader poles. They've worked out great. On both boats I had/have rigging for 2 Rupp knockouts in order to run 2 rods off of each pole.pallares wrote:what would the tribe recommend for outriggers for a 31 TE albin

I do need to make an adjustment this off season by adding a spacer in between the house and the bases to in order to get the pole cable rigging from chafing against the pilot house roof / it is slight. I did not have this issue on the 28. A little trial and error on the thickness, but planning to start at 1/2" first.

Re: outriggers
I installed Lee outriggers on my 28 Albin and liked them so much I put them on my 31 Albin. They are mounted on the roof so they are out of the way, and very easy to use. I have had marlin and tuna hit on the lines when using these outriggers. The total cost was under $1000.00. They also look great!

Re: outriggers
As far as the outriggers I found them on E-Bay. Next time I go to the boat I will check that for you.

Re: outriggers
I would recommend the Lee Jr. wishbone style. I had the Rupp sidekick wishbones on my previous boat and they were aluminum while the Lees are stainless and cost less. I now own the former Irish Wake with the rooftop Lees and they are good but you must climb up on the deck to reach the release lever to deploy them. If the seas are rough you have to be careful. The poles are also fairly short because they have no spreaders. The wishbone type can be deployed from the cockpit and you have a choice of longer poles. I had 18 foot poles to run two lines off each one. Here is a link to the Lee wishbones but once you know what you want you can find them on eBay or google them and look for the best price.
