drawer corners are pulling apart

Post by finally »

New owner here and my 99 31 te is great. Some of the plastic drawer corner junctions are cracking. Any ideas for part source rather than crafting a replacement part? Many thanks.

I am having the same issues with the drawer supports and looking for replacement parts or some sort of fix. Has anyone come up with anything?

My drawers on deck are made of extruded plastic rails for the sides and the corners just push in and clip. Then the face is screwed to the clips. Well not so much anymore.. The faces are good so I will be rebuilding the drawers this winter if I get to it.

Attach is a picture I think we are talking about. Well at least half of mine on my boat are breaking. For a temporary fix I have used silicon but its not the best and continues to break.... Hope someone has a better idea. I know the latches are made by southco but could not find or figure out who makes the drawer plastic supports.

Couldn't we use 5200?

So that is exactly what a few of mine have done. So if you don't want to remake the rest of the drawer you could use stainless angle 20 ga or so and pop rivets with washers for support into the extruded plastic drawer sides. Then screw the drawer front on. This is my fall back if I don't get motivated.. I haven't measured yet for what material to use but a hard wood or marine plywood with sealing after dado-ing the rail groves should work.
