Albin TE 31 A/C shore power

Post by kowal_53 »

My shore power on my 31 died this morning, after many days of running. The power cord to the boat AC plug is good. There is no power at the panel. Does any one know how Albin ran the wires from the stern plug to the panel? Is there a master AC breaker somewhere?

I attempted to use the second 30 AC circuit, and again got nothing. I did find that the breaker had over heating damage quite some time ago given the green corrosion there. I will have to fix that too.

We had the same scenario last summer.I removed the inlet recepticle from under the starboard gunnel and tightened the screws. I could not believe how loose they were.No corrosion, just loose.I hope your fix is as quick as mine.

You should find an electrical weather box with two 30 amp breakers in it (one for each inlet) under the cockpit sole mounted on the portside bulkhead behind the portside fuel tank (inboard side) and forward of the gen-set. It's easiest accessed from the center rear hatch. You'll see the box once you're down inside the bilge.

Is the PARA Bus switch on your panel switched to A + B? If not only one side of your panel will be powered with one inlet plugged in and the other side of your panel when the other is plugged in. Regardless with either or plugged in, your AC meter should show 120.

I found the breakers just where you said it would be. Thanks so much.
