raiseing foot rest on a 28 te
I have a 02 28 te and I put a new helm seat in now my feet do not reach the foot rest did anyone ever move theirs up?

I'm guessing that you have an engine box model. Here's an idea ...
If you raise the current footrest it will no longer be able to fold completely upward and lock as it will interfere at the helm. I'd suggest a box that can be barrel bolted in place so that it can easily be removed for when you wish to fold up the starboard footrest in order to easily service the water heater, etc..

The first picture is of the barrel bolt holding my companion way cover boards secure. This concept could be utilized to secure a removable platform.
Maybe engineer a platform / footrest box that has starboard lag cleats that can be barrel bolted from beneath your current footrest. I'd router out a 4 short rectangles on the current footrest that could accept cleats that would extend through and below the current platform from the new box. They would be similar to the starboard lags in following pictures. The new box / footrest can then set securely on top of the existing and still keep you pretty much OEM not really altering your boat and allowing you to still use the current footrest as intended. Hope this helps.
