Changing Zincs on the Yanmar 315

Post by fisham »

Does anyone have experience changing the inter-cooler zinc on a flush deck TE 28? Do you have to take off the end cap? There does not seem to be any space above the zinc at all due to the small shelf in the port berth...... Do you also have to replace a gasket? It all seems very awkward!

Thanks

replacing zinc

We solved the problem, by drilling a 1 1/2" hole at an angle through the small shelf above the intercooler zinc, and then covering it with an electric switch cover. Albin should have considered the problem when enclosing the engine! The solution is certainly better than having to take apart the intercooler just to change a zinc!
