Avoid Petit's Easypoxy 3108 ( off white)
FYI: I had all sorts of problems with this paint. Primarily it holds dirt. You can't clean it with any sort of soap mixture to get the grung off. Petit sent me three new quarts and the new paint does the same thing. I've had luck with other colors but I would strongly advise staying away from their Off White 3108. I'm going to have to repaint the whole boat.

Sorry to hear that Vic, I've used Rustoleum Marine Paint, so far (2 years) pleased with how it has held up in the Florida sun

Jay,
I just ordered a quart of their Oyster White. I've heard good things about Rustoleum. Did you roll and tip? Did you need to thin if so with what? What did you put it over? If you have any tips let me know.
Petit 3108 Off White is OK as long as you keep it out of the sun, rain, weather, humility, heat, water, air and apply it under stringent
lab conditions.

I put it over their primer, Did some brushing on smaller surfaces, rolled on the larger, didn't tip, I thinned with paint thinner when needed. I found several coats really helped, sanded with 400 grit in between. Foam rollers sucked, I used short nap and got best results
If (when) I repaint I may consider adding enamel hardener

I used the off-white as it came closest to the original colour. Foam roller and tip. It does seem to get dirty but cleaned up with deck cleaner and scrub brush.

I'm glad you had better luck than I. Some of the dirt streaks wouldn't come off using a good dose of Clorox in with the soap. The other color I used ( 3 coats) is fine the 3108 didn't hold up and this was after 5 coats. The boat has only been out from under a shed since Oct. What I have left of the 3108 is going on the bottom of the chicken coop.

Re: Avoid Petit's Easypoxy 3108 ( off white)
I can't confirm it was 3108 that I used. It was the off-white because I felt the white was too bright and wouldn't hide the imperfections as well, and be too strong a contrast with the original colour. But I am finished with the cans and never made note of the number itself. Two coats was sufficient (at least to my standard!) and it looks a hell of a lot better than the shop-worn original with the blue sub-strate showing through in the most worn areas.

FYI: Rustoleum marine Oyster White is a color match for Easypoxy 3108 Off White. Too bad I can't paint until the fall as it's too darn hot and will get hotter. Thanks to whomever told me about Rustoleum marine paint.

Jay,
If I had backed up a bit I would have seen that it was you. Thanks again. I brushed some of the Rustoleum over a piece that had 3108 on it not only did the color match it stuck like paint. I put it on at 8:30 this morning and when I checked it about 3:00 this afternoon the Rustoleum would not scratch off. Also I put it on with a throwaway brush. No brush marks. Today we have relatively low humidity (for us) so I'm sure that helps a lot.
As a bonus the Home Depot near the bay has this paint in stock.
