We stand out

Post by Jay Knoll »

Hi everyone

We're in lighthouse point marina in lighthouse point fl surrounded by big sport fish and other go fast boats. Yesterday I saw a 30' center console go by with 1050 hp hanging off the stern!

Anyway people keep stopping by and complementing us on the boat and ask to come aboard. The are really impressed with the boat -- she sure stands out from all the others at the dock. And I probably have less invested in her than the cost af the electronics on some of the other boats.

Very nice! My little bro Mike lives in Ft Pierce just a few miles South of Vero Beach. He works at the Pursuit Boats factory where they build those center console boats with mega horsepower outboards hanging off the transoms. He gave us a tour of the factory while we were there visiting back in 2010. The 2nd photo was taken in the forward cabin of their flagship boat, the 37 footer. He's been with the company since 2000.

And we could probably be put on the decks of some of these. Passed by the Rybovich Spenser yard in Palm Beach. Look closely you might notice a helicopter on deck

Howdy Jay, I used to be the carpentry shop supervisor at Rybovich. They have dinghys that are much larger than our boats. I really enjoyed working on them. Their annual maintenance budget for each would probably buy all existing Albin 27's and have enough money left over to restore them. On another note, your vessel is looking GOOD! Hope you have a great cruise. Ben

Jay,

If they had a little wider transom, they could bolt on some serious power!

Nice shots Jay! We've been down to WPB many times by car and visit the marina.....some serious boats docked down there. They leave the vessel docked while they go to there multimillion dollar place on Palm Beach. You must have past through Stuart....any stops here? We stayed at the city docks in Vero for a couple of weeks when we ventured down from Vermont 3 years ago. Almost made it our home, but one more day of travel brought us to Stuart....and here we stay!
It's all about relaxation :)
