Yes, fairly well. It looked great until mid-August and then began to break down. I really wanted it to last thru September....but it didn't.
I'll give it one more season with as many coats I can reasonably put on....then see if it lasts longer.

as an owner of a 2002 blue hulled 28 te i have had excellent luck with the poly glo product. start with clean hull, oxidation free, and simply wipe on. this product produces the 'wet' look that rivals any wax job, and even awl grip from 4 feet out. very close inspection will show brush marks and slight imperfections. lasts easily all season and is very easy to touch up.

as a boater of limited resources i cannot and will not put up the cash for an awl grip paint job. plenty of other and more important items can be used on my boat such as upgraded electronics or new off-shore gear.

on the water i will put my boat along side any painted blue hulled boat and hold my head high. yes i spend a couple days each spring tending the hull and bottom but its all part of the game.

/img]Yeah Rob. Had it for the last 3 months.
Not much to do on Abbastanza thanks to you. Just keep up with PM.
Had the interior cushions reupholstered. Look amazing. Will send photo when back in boat.

I saw a post where someone used the 3 collinites mixed together. Like to get more info on that.
Last season I was good to late August. Not sure I could ask for more.

Also redid the cabin table

Joe,

The table looks amazing! Please tell us what you did to it. Is it a complete rebuild? How are the compass rose and border constructed?

It is the original table. I fit 1/2 " plywood between the teak molding. I covered it with teak veneer. I ordered the inlay compas rose and border online and inlayed it into the teak veneer and then used clear lucite high gloss to seal it all in.
If interested , I will post the name of the inlay shop.

The table Looks Great! Curious for more detail on how you did this. Plywood on top of the original melamine top with the veneer glued on top with the compass rose and border inset? You've got me thinking as I have wanted to do something to dress things up short of a complete new table top.

Maybe start a new thread with more detail and name of inlay shop. Thanks!

And .... welcome aboard Joe!

Kevin,
The website for the inlay materials. Inlays.com
They have veneer compass roses and also many inlay strips for borders.

This was a relative easy and very rewarding project.
Material:
Sheet of teak veneer. Roberts plywood Google them. They are on Long Island or perhaps you can get veneer near you
12 " teak compass rose. Inlays.com
Veneer strips. Inlays.com

I made a template using poster board material of the inside of the table. (Between the teak moldings)
Use 1/2" furniture grade plywood. (Cut to match template)
Use template to cut teak veneer
Lay teak over plywood and tape with masking tape around the entire perimeter
Carefully place veneer compass rose in center and tape to veneer. Tape 2" strips, 2 " apart around the perimeter. Using a exacto knife, carefully cut through the veneer 2" at a time. As you cut, tape over the cut. Continue till you complete the circle.
Dry fit veneer and compass rose on plywood.
Glueing: I used titebond 3 recommended by inlay.com
Draw lines 3/4" from perimeter inside teak moulding. I used a 3/4" block of wood to scribe the perimeter.
I used these lines so not to apply glue to this area. (you will be removing the veneer around the perimeter inside these lines later)
Brush glue on plywood avoiding the perimeter inside the lines.
Place veneer and compass rose
Use weight on top of veneer and compass rose (I used sandbags)
Keep weights on for at least 48 hrs. DO Not CLAMP!
When glue is dry, cut teak veneer around the perimeter using exacto knife to fit veneer strips.
Glue strips in place
Remove water soluble tape from compass rose with a slightly damp cloth do not saturate, rub gently, it will begin to peel off. take your time and be very patient!!!!!! I ruined my first attempt trying to sand the tape off. Spoke to guy at inlay.com and He clued me in to how to remove the tape.
Lightly sand top by HAND be very gentle with compass rose
Apply pourable lucite to top following instructions. there are good videos on YouTube about lucite
Good luck. Let me know if I could help..

I've been out of commission over the winter building a new home, moving in and getting settled, and working a refueling outage, so I'm just now looking at posts again. Below is a link to a post I did last year about an alternative to painting which we chose. Well it's been over a year, just had me detailer prep the boat for Spring (while I'm working) and wanted to reassure you....IT LOOKS AS GOOD AS THE DAY THEY DID IT...WITH ONLY A GOOD WASH WITH A SOFT BRUSH!!!! AMAZING!!!! Here's the link

Good Luck
