"The Winnebago"

Post by tego »

Awhile back, I saw a post of an Albin 27FC for sale that was probably the ugliest vessel I've ever seen, with an extended hardtop that resembled a Winnie camper. Apparently a lot of people shared my opinion because it is still for sale. It's listed on Craigslist Chatanooga for under $5000! This boat has the Isuzu, 157 HP engine, which is probably the only original Albin engine that still has parts available from Isuzu dealers. It would be a great starting point for a restoration, if anyone's interested.

I saw it too. I believe the boat is actually in Corpus Christi, TX. The listing broker is in Chattanooga. If it was in Tennessee I would go pick it up. Corpus is a bit too far. It is ugly but it has potential.

I'm sure that for a $1K trucking fee, you could have it sitting in your driveway - I wouldn't let a few hundred miles and a nominal delivery fee keep me from buying any boat I thought was a good deal. My brother just bought an electric car which was 800 miles away and it should arrive here today for a $550 trucking fee
