World Wide Albin25

Post by Amiga_of_Stenungsund »

Dear Albin25 friends.

I am serving on the board of the Swedish Albin25-club and we are looking at establishing an international register for all A25s which has spread over the globe from the little shipyard in Kristinehamn in Sweden. Maybe the best part of the story are all those A25 cruising in US/Canadian waters and being very well preserved by their dedicated owners.

What we are looking for at this early start in the project is serialnumber, boat name, home port and preferrably a photo of the beauty! We will work with this material during the autumn and hopefully present our project online by the end of 2014.

By the way: You have such a great forum and let´s all work together to keep these True Classics alive and afloat!

Best regards from the Swedish West Coast,
Björn Aadnöy

The only reason why I haven't joined, and will not join, the Swedish club is because it demands/requires all kinds of strictly personal information that is none of the club's business, before one can sign up and pay.

Björn was surprised at my answer and replied (privately) that as far as he knew the club secretary only needed an address to send the payment card to.

I copied and forwarded the club membership site requirements and here they are, translated:

Username (Required)
E-mail address (Required)
Password (Required)
Confirm password (Required)
Namn (Required)
Address (Required)
Zipcode (Required)
County (Postort) (Required)
Country (Required)
Telephone number (Required)
Birthdate (ÅÅ-MM-DD) (Required)
Home port (Required)
Model (Required)
Year (Required)
Boat name (Required)
Engine model (Required)
Region (Required)

I'd love to participate in another useful Albin 25 forum, but not if they require my hamster's blood-type. It's none of their fracking business.

Meanwhile, Bali is treating us beautifully and we are trying to return the favor.
-Sven

Albin25:ers!

So after lots of programming hours the World Wide Albin25 is now online. Albin25s from all over Europe and US/Canada have submitted their boating info and new boats are coming in every day!
Membership in the Swedish club is not needed for joining the WWA25 and it is free-of-charge. Again and as clearly stated in my first post: This is not a registry on owners - only boats! And we do not require Mr. Svens hamster's blood-type or any other personal info. :D
Please visit us at http://www.albin25.se/wwa25/
More info at http://www.albin25.se/wwa25/information ... e-albin25/

And again: The WWA25 is not in competition with this great forum of yours. It´s just a plain and simple map, but hopefully unique and awesome as the Albin25 itself.

Greetings,
Björn Aa.
