2015 28TE?

I could swear that I read on this forum that C&C is no longer building 28TE's. So I was quite surprised to find a listing on Yachtworld for a 2015 model although the listing states that the boat hasn't been built yet.

So what's up with this? Did someone buy the molds? Will C&C build custom but not on spec?

Just a suspicion, as I see RCYS as broker, I sense Fred Peters might be back. RCYS has all of the new 40 plus foot boats listed which are through Fred Peters and a Greenwich, CT boat location which is right next door to the original Albin Cos Cob, CT office. I'll leave someone else to ferret this out!

Of course the simplest thing would just be to call the broker . . . . . . but that would take all the intrigue out of it. Besides, he probably would't answer the phone at this hour.

Hi Nancy --

I called C&C last spring and spoke with their manager as I was considering an upgrade. When I asked how many 28TE's they had actually built he stated the number was just one and that market demand hadn't justified any more. I also asked if they built it to the exact specifications as Albin had, to which he replied they did NOT. He said that while the hull mold was the same, they had redesigned much of the boat. He didn't elaborate how, so I resigned myself to fully upgrading the great boat I have.
