Here's what I got in an email from Penninsular,

If the block the two heads and the crankshaft are reusable a fair
trade in is 2000 to 2500.00 If the heads are shot I need to spend 1400 to
1600 replacing them. If the block is not reusable I would have to put in a
new short block or a new long block for 7400 and then with labor and
rebuilding the other components we are in the 12,000 range.

Hi
I have been off the site for a while, but I replaced both engines with long blocks from Peninsular. If you have any questions let me know. email me at afoto@optonline.net as I don't check the site daily. I did the entire job myself. Mat was a big help. The job wasn't that bad. BTW, I am not a mechanic. Email my your telephone number if you want to talk
