Height Specifications Albin 28

I have my eye on a Albin 28 TE but need to line up inside storage before I pull the trigger. Does anyone know the height for rack storage purposes?

Checked the search records but did not see this actually answered but well discussed for towing. There are several members with who trailer out of Brookings, Or. Hopefully, one will notice your request and get back.

I know that a 28 won't fit in a rack over here in the UK but Porchylad here on the forum has his dry stacked. Pretty sure 12'8" rings a bell?

I would have to say that 11'8 would be from the radome mounting plate on the radar arch down to the bottom of the skeg. Would then need to add height of the radome itself or actually the extra height of all around light.

I think the flush decks might be a few inches higher. Didn't they have to raise the roof? I will measure mine when she comes out in December.

They actually raised her from the rubrail up via the gunnel cap height. Easily noticed at the height/thickness between the stern cleats and the rubrail. Garth's ENDURANCE to my starboard side is a FD

Make sure that the storage facility is familiar with the underwater shape of the skeg. The facilities near my home in Stuart would not take my Albin because the racks have lower horizontal beams that prevent the Albin from being inserted all the way into the rack. Outboard motors drop down just outside of the beam but too much of an Albin would stick out. I think they also were concerned that one of the fork lift operators would eventually hit the skeg on the steel beam.

The brochure I have says to add 6.5" to the air draft if the boat is a flush deck.

Even though the overall height appears to be the same between my 2000 boat and my buddies 2005 boat the clearance between deck and wheelhouse roof seems hugely different. Both boats are engine box models with identical layouts. I'll need to get a tape measure out one day to see if it is or just a trick of the eye.

I'm not sure if this helps, but with my '99 Albin 28 TE sitting on it's trailer it is 13' 2" from the ground to the top of the radar dome mounted on the standard rack. The skeg is about 8" off the pavement.
