Changing over to electric fuel pump.
Installing extra oil pressure switch to
control it. Mechanical pump giving to
much trouble & to expensive. Has
anyone else done this.

Re: Albin AD-21 Fuel Pump nightmare
My MD17C came to me with a leaking mechanical pump and an electrical after-market pump as well.
Mechanic one advised me to disconnect and bypass the mechanical.
No. 2 said the boat needs both, quoted $700 to replace the mechanical
No. 3 just went ahead and replaced the mechanical with a used pump he located in an hour, removed the electric, now everything works just fine. $300 or so.
YMMV

Re: Albin AD-21 Fuel Pump nightmare
For $75.00 investment will stick with
Electric pump & carry a spare just in
case. The original pump seems to be
a problem. Don't need the leaking
fuel in engine compartment & in injector
crank case. Should have Albin 25 in
Tip top shape in spring looking forward
to meeting other Albin owners.
