28TE wiper motor replacement

Post by robin »

Has anyone replaced the original Ongaro wiper motors on a mid-2000 28TE? Ongaro no longer makes that motor, but has several other current models available. I noticed that none of them have the original double arm that allows the blade to remain vertical through its swing.

I'm not locked in to Ongaro, if another brand would work. Has anyone added an intermittent position, so you don't have to constantly flip the wipers on and off for an occasional single wipe in light rain or mist? Or a washer system to clear salt water smear underway?

The pantographic wipers are an add on that can be used with most wiper motors. You just replace the arm of the wiper with the pantographic arm. There was an adjustment on the motor for the proper swing length.

I also have the vetus washer system installed on my 28. It works well and is plumbed into the fresh water system to utilize the main pump. It works very well in getting the salt marks off.

Here's a thread for a ways back on the topic ... viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3738&p=22231&hilit= ... her#p22231
