On the 28 TE....there is a macerator. I cannot find it. I do not find a schematic to tell me where it is. Please let me know where it should be.
Thanks, J. Hefner

Re: Mascerator...where is it?
Ours was in the center bilge on the platform under the helm chair slightly aft of the hot water heater.

Re: Mascerator...where is it?
Nancy and others: I found the macerator and the seacocks. I had expected to find only one inlet seacock.....I found two.......both were
labeled "waste"......I suppose that the larger one....about 2.5 inches estimated is for the discharge out if you are at sea and can legally use it.
I suppose that the smaller of the two is for the inlet of the sea water...it was about 1.5 inches in diameter. When I first looked the smaller one was open and the larger is closed. Unfortunately, I still cannot get water to come into the bowl with the manual pump.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it....the seacock must be plugged is all that I can think of as the hand pump now works very easily.
Thanks.

Re: Mascerator...where is it?
1.5" is standard size for a discharge hose, but very large for an inlet hose. If the toilet uses seawater (and not freshwater), maybe the seacock is closed. Have you been able to identify all the thru-hull fittings that are below the water line?

Re: Mascerator...where is it?
I assume you know about the switch on the pump for dry and flush. If the pump moves very easily the rubber on the piston may have deteriorated. Try pouring water in the bowl and see if it will pump out. The intake should not be blocked unless the boat has been sitting for a long time. You can try reaching under the boat with a deck brush to try to clean it if you cannot dive on it.

Re: Mascerator...where is it?
Thanks Russell...I am still puzzled by the little sign on the bigger hose (closed sea cock) that says "head intake".....the smaller hose says about the same thing.....I think the larger one has to be a discharge and is just mislabeled...
