Bow Thruster Indicator

Post by kowal_53 »

Has any one replaced their Vetus bow thruster indicator light on the control panel?

I did take the unit off the panel, but nothing easy wanted to move.

My Vetus doesn't have any lights that I'm aware of. And I don't recall a light on the control on our 28 either. What indicator are you looking for?

This green light? I cannot answer your question though as I think you found one of the few things I never did replace on T-R..

Yes that is the one. Apparently it does work, you just can't see it during the days light. My 28 works fine in the day light.

When I took possession of my present boat the green button was stuck in the on position because a wasp had deposited mud in there and jammed the button. The green light was always on but could only be seen at night. We took it apart and got the button to work but now the light is out and we could not figure out how to replace it. I think there is an LED in the button and maybe Vetus is the only source for it.

Nibbles has the same green light at both stations. If pushed lightly it seems to go on and off fine. Don't now recall whether engaging it at either station causes it to light at the other. My guess is it a simple bulb below the control housing. Will be back at the boat sometime in Sept. Be happy to look at it then.
