Morse control - throttle slows

Post by Jack »

I don't see this topic in the maintenance section. My Morse control throttle eases off from 3300 rpm to about 2900 from vibration so I keep increasing it a little every few minutes. I forget how to tighten it. There are two screws , one on either side of the base of the throttle on the housing. See the attached photo. I think they either tighten or loosen the throttle but I'm not sure. Does anyone have this type of throttle/gearshift control? I appreciate any help. I've tried searching for Morse control adjustment online without success.
Thanks.

Took me a bit of looking but I eventually found this: http://www.seastarsolutions.com/wp-cont ... 00-049.pdf

Teleflex Morse is now Sea Star Solutions.

Jack when you are in there tightening things up also take a good look at the cotter pin holding the cable. Maake sure it is nicely spread, etc. One of mine let go this year leaving the clutch flapping around like a fish on the deck. I changed it to the ring tyoew that should not come off. Good luck, and nice seeing you in Townsends!

Jack, you might want to take a look at the throttle cable linkage on the engine. It just might need a tightening.
