Water heater relief valve
Has any one replaced the water heater relief valve on a Seaward heater? When the engine gets to temperature the valve opens and gets water ever where. Is the valve a crew in or otherwise? I'm new to the site and I have looked but there seems to be nothing specific to the valve replacement. Thanks,

Yes, I have.
The pressure relief valve is 150 psi (about 11 bar) and you can replace it without the need to remove the calorifier.
I replaced mine with a 6 bar valve and it works just fine.

To me that looks like a standard Home Depot/Lowes/Hardware store relief valve. That's what I have used in the past on my Raritan heaters.

Did some further web cruising. The factory part was $29. With the temperature and pressure you need both or risk a blevy. Pretty cheap fix. Thanks every one.

The standard relief valve for home water heaters is 3/4"NPT. The 6 gallon heater on my 2000 28 uses a 1/2" valve which may have to be found at an RV supply store or on line.
