Just came back from a short cruise in the archipelago outside Västervik. Had a great time !
The first stop was at Hasselö's guest dock. It's before the season really starts so we had the dock to ourselves two out of three nights.
The second stop was at one of Loftahammar's guest docks. The dock is in a very active marina and we got to watch a lot of boats getting put in the water and prepped for three months of summer.
Bali's new canvas came in handy when the rains hit. A wonderful discovery was that the diesel heater works ! I never tried it last summer and the prior owner said he didn't think it worked. It came in handy when the temps dropped to as low as 10°C one night.
It was only a cruise of 20 NM or so but a lot of fun especially when trying to thread our way between all the rocks in the unmarked passages.

Re: Short cruise in the archipelago
Thanks. Yes the archipelago is stunning and with the all-man's-right the 1000s of skerries and islands are yours to enjoy as long as you don't disturb anyone in dwellings or cause any harm. A lot cooler than the Pacific side of Mexico too !Nancy wrote: I enjoyed taking a quick Swedish tour with you! I read a few of your blog posts, too - beautiful cruising grounds.
Tomorrow our temps are supposed to drop to as low as 7°C before climbing back up to about 16. Talk about unseasonably cold.
