The sliding windows in the pilot house our 1995 28TE do not have handles, and it's not easy to open them. Did the early models not have window handles? Any ideas for a retrofit or workaround?
I read a bunch of posts here about window handles, and it sounds like this feature may have evolved over time.

Re: Windows handles
My 2001 came with simple self sticking "indents". Most glass repair businesses have them in stock. Some are clear some black.

Re: Window handles
Hmm, these Perko handles fit 1/4" glass. I guess they're just friction fit, so they'd work in one direction and fall off in the other?

Re: Window handles
I bought these a couple seasons back and they are perfect. The self adhesive is easy and hasn't budged. Just clean the glass 110% prior to install.

Re: Window handles
On my '02 28TE the pulls were an integrated part of the a metal U Channel that ran the full vertical run of the forward part of the rear glass slider and the full vertical run of the rear of the forward glass slider. The rear approx center 3 inch tab clipped over the front 3 inch tab for locking. Both were good to get the window to start sliding only and the pushing the glass from which ever end you wanted. Not perfect, but it worked.
In the picture you can see the full channel on the forward part of the rear glass with the locking tab in the middle. Seem like every model year was a little different as Albin looked to improve upon or cut costs ... My 31 has the the glue on tabs in white that Rob showed.

Re: Window handles
Sometime during the late 2000 - early 2001 they changed suppliers or (just changed product) of the sliding windows. They are completely different sliding window units (frames, pulls, etc.)Pitou wrote: Seem like every model year was a little different as Albin looked to improve upon or cut costs ...

Re: Window handles
My model year 2002 / built late 2001 had windows by Bomar and frames provided by their sister company Aluminum2000.RobS wrote:Sometime during the late 2000 - early 2001 they changed suppliers or (just changed product) of the sliding windows.
