Cork flooring / nonskid

Post by fiti huahine »

My non-skid on deck is not really good. If the cockpit gets wet it's really slippery.
Anyone ever try cork for nonskid?

I saw a commercial boat in the harbor that had it, looked great and felt solid.

Anyone know cost and how they do custom fabrications?

Bunkie, my 1984 A27 has cork nonskid.

It is a diamond tread pattern. Was on the boat when I bought her.
Don't know who did the install but it sticks great and wears well. Only downside I found is that it will stain with oil and acetone, but over time the marks fade. I haven't found it to get hot with bare feet and it is a welcome change from looking at the usual white textured gelcoat deck on a bright sunny day (like staring at the sun sometimes).
