Sad day for an Albin owner

A friend of mine sent me this photo of an Albin located in Captain's Cove marina in Highlands, NJ. I don't know the owner or the boat's name.

Wonder if it has something to do with the excess snow and ice we've been experiencing up here. Been seeing an abundance of property damage claims from the weight of ice and snow and obstructed drains.

Is this a recent event? I think I pass this boat on my way out to Rairitan bay. I wonder why he was in the water and not hauled and wrapped ? A great shame.

At first I thought this might be a Sandy event, but I dont think Sandy left snow on the roofs! Surprised there is no ice floating in the canal.

Yes, it really is terrible to see such a nice boat likely down and beyond useful recovery. The 35te Flybridge is a fairly rare boat. Since they are out of production even fewer will be around. Very sad for the owner.

How many 35 TE Flybridges do you think were made?

Ron: Did some limited research on the question of how many with the flybridge. All that came up was a comparison of the 31 & the 35. Doug Sea seems to have a source and may get back to us. Curious as you are as to how many. Jack Pady Marine was an Albin dealer and ordered mine for the original owner. Will see if he has the information somewhere. Only other source might be Stanton Marine also a former Albin Dealer.
Bellingham Marine was the west coast dealer. The owner tells me he ordered a couple of the Flybridge series, but we have not seen any around. One of our AOG Members has a 35te hardtop with twin Cummins in Seattle.
We have a fair number of fine 31's out our way, but the 35te is rare, however, equipped. There has been an older series for sale in the Bay Area of Calif. for a number of years. Does not look that clean in the pictures. Will let you know if Jack Pady has this information for us.

Out of curiosity, do you know the name of your boat's original owner? Bought my 2001 28TE in '03 from Jack Pady Marine who ordered it for the original owner who was upgrading to a larger Albin at the time. If it was the same guy that owned mine, I KNOW you got a great boat. I have had zero issues in the 10 year plus time I've owned it.

Yes, the original owner went out with us on the shake down cruise. His name is Charley. Actually, have the papers put away on his last name. He originally purchased a 28, then the 31 and finally the 35Te "Nibbles" Charley provided me with all the papers including the order to Ablin with prices, etc.
If you are interested and Charely is not enough I can pull up the full name.

Ron: Jack Pady responded to my inquiry. The factory back in 2006 said a small number were ever made. He thought 4-6. There are at least 3 or 4 in the Albin group. Doug, yours and mine and one other at least.
Bellingham Marine tells me they ordered two with the flybridge. As I said previously they don't seem to be around the NW at this point.
I have seen a couple others listed on the east coast in the past. My estimate then would be 6-8, but still just a guess. It is fair to say they are rare. Would be interestred to know how many 35te Hardtops were made as well. I have seen and looked at several in my research, but most are on the east coast from Flor. to Maine. Jack Pady in Georgina Bay, Canada has a nice one with twin Cummins that I did see before my current purchase. Owner then was unwilling to reduce asking price, but has done so as they are now more motivated. It is a really nice boat. Jack won't handle anything else.
