Congrats. "Knot Reely" is (was) right up the canal from me, beautiful boat. We exchanged "waves" many times this season. Thanks for getting it out of town for us...it was grabbing all the attention!
Best of luck to you.

Thanks all & Paddy, happy to get her out of town!
You're right the fabric and cushions are in great shape and we'll zip things up.Nancy wrote:That all makes sense, Kevin, and the existing fabric looks to be in good shape. Maybe a couple of throw pillows would give you a pop of color for the first year if you're into that sort of thing. The teak and holly sole is capable of carrying most any fabric choice and still look fantastic. It doesn't look half bad now, and it's going to be amazing when you re-upholster.
Some masts are hinged and some are not. I'd say that hinged or not depends upon the the air draft height up or down depending where one boats / owner requirements for over water fixed bridge clearances and expected travel lift requirements. For me it will be bolt down to the rooftop and there she'll sit. For me there will be no low fixed span bridges to contend with, will be hauled and launched with a hydraullic trailer and when traveling I always check charts for bridge heights and plan from there.Nancy wrote:Thanks for enlightening me on the mast. Are they typically hinged?

Kevin: Your engine and gen. set looks brand new. Great buy. How rare is the 500 Cummins in the 31te series. Don't recall see any others.

Re: The New PITOU / '06 31 TE
Thanks Howard. Both are extremely clean and free of any visible corrosion. This 31 TE was one of the last in production. As Rob said one of one on the Cummins or at least pretty darn close. It's the only one I've seen in 2 years of earnest looking. My search had been focused on the single mechanical control Cummins 6CTA 8.3 at 450 hp until this hull came on the market. This engine, the Cummins QSC 8.3 at 500 hp is the Tier II electronic control replacement. .. I'm happy!whwells wrote:Kevin: Your engine and gen. set looks brand new. Great buy. The shot of the genset is not the "business" side, how is access to the other side for filters and fluids?

Business side is a dream for access through the rear cockpit center hatch. From center hatch is access to FF, LF, water pump & exhaust drain for muffler. Genset picture was taken from outboard port side hatch.RobS wrote:The shot of the genset is not the "business" side, how is access to the other side for filters and fluids?

Congratulations on your purchase PITOU! I hope to be making a similar post in the upcoming months. I have been loking at the 28 and not much time looking at the 31 but a few extra feet seem to make it a very spacious boats. enjoy!

Welcome aboard and thank you CaptSteve. I had my 28 for 9 seasons and loved every minute of it. Moving into the 31 with 3 ft. 5" more of length and 2 ft. 2" in beam makes for a lot more boat, especially in the beam. Keep on searching to find yourself the right boat for you!
Here's a picture with some of the mods done this past year. The antenna mast will be added this spring as I just ran out of gas to get it mounted this past short season!
