We have the right boat, Albin 32 Command Bridge, for this trip. comfortable, seaworthy, and economical. Left Venice FL May 4th, arrived South Hero, VT on June 6th. Cruising at 7 - 10 MPH with between 2 and 5 in the crew, it was an easy trip. After having taken a great deal of time in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, we headed out at Beaufort, NC to Cape Hatteras for a 42 hour straight shot to Ocean City, Maryland. Yes we had an amazing weather window that eventually blew us up to "The City", I wouldn't recommend this route for there are no back doors, no class A harbor entrances on the entire Virginia Coast.
On the return trip in Oct. taking 36 days we spent time in the places we missed on the way up, namely the Chesapeake Bay and the Dismal Swamp route. We just got out of NY in time to duck in at Manisquam before a Northeaster which would have held us up for 5 days. We also ran into heavy winds and seas in the Carolinas but were fortunate to keep moving by taking the alternate intercoastal at Jekyll Island, the locals there were most helpful.
A single diesel, a full keel, a working deck, and a bow thruster make this an ideal traveling boat. Of course the air, heat, radar, ect. are nice. Joe

Re: Lake Champlain to Venice Florida
Glad you had a good trip south, Joe. Will you be bringing her back up in the spring?
I was disappointed that we didn't connect over the summer. We waved every time we went through the cut!
