Offer made and accepted

Post by Panhdjoe »

Offer made and accepted on "Salty Dog" a 1983 36 classic. The boat is located in Urbanna va. We are in the process of selecting a Surveyor, I have followed the link in 'Alibn Maintenance' by dgurgel and found it to be most helpful. If any one has any firsthand experience with any surveyors in the Deltaville area please let me know. Joe

Best of luck!!
Assuming it has a Ford-Lehman....
American Diesel Corp is in Kilmarnock, which is 20 miles from where the boat is. They (Bob and Brian Smith) are the Lehman engine gurus and the absolute best source for parts.
They "may" travel that distance for an engine survey. That would be awesome.
If not they are at least worth a visit to find out all the Ford-Lehman info and dos and don'ts regarding this engine. Maybe even buy some parts (filters, etc) and get first hand instruction on how to do the services and upgrades if required.

Thanks Jeff, Also I spoke on the phone with Brian Smith at American Diesel, he is a great wealth of info and willing to take as much time with me as I needed. Someone who answers the phone and is that helpful is rare these days.

Salty Dog has been through survey. We have done some more negotiating and signed the purchase agreement! We should close by the first week in December. Albin owners again.
