It's ours!!
Well, after a lot of research and the use of a GREAT broker, we became new owners of an Albin CB today. Now I start throwing money into the "hole in the water" to bring her up to speed. Luckily it's not very extensive, but the bottom needs and is getting a new coating of Trinidad starting this Monday and a few engine and hose items, and hopefully that's it for now. I just wanted to say "hello" to all and I hope the AOG website and posts will be a great asset to me.

You'll love the boat. The big problem with these boats is there lack of use, they were made to run. I've owned my 1994 32' CB
since last April and have done many repairs, mostly due to not being run. She winters in Venice FL and summers in Lake Champlain, Vermont. I've taken the 1800 mile trip up and back and the Cat 3116 runs better everyday, along with several local trips. Lot's of luck and we hope to run into you. Joe

Congrats to your new purchase!!!. I second Joe...you need to run the engine...not good just sitting.

Re: It's ours!!
Hey folks,
well, the "hole in the water" is already rearing its' head! During the survey, the stuffing box was unable to be inspected due to oil/water covering it. It was recommended to inspect it at first opportunity. Turns out the water hose connected to the box was totally deteriorated because of the oil immersion. The hose replacement is easy, but the prop and shaft have to be pulled to accomplish this fix. Sounds like there will be 5-10 hours labor involved. Being new to salt water and diesel boating, I took the surveyor's recommendation to look at this later. I had it hauled to inspect the hull. In retrospect, I should have paid for more "hang time" and had the bilge drained to facilitate inspection of the box.
Oh well,... I am really looking forward to getting underway. The more I look into this boat, the more I like it!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
