...Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 2 am EDT Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

Rain will mix with sleet... and then change to snow before ending.
1 to 3 inches of snow is expected before ending.

This is a powerful storm with a sharp line between areas that get
heavy rain and areas that get significant snow. Although this
line is expected to be between the Baltimore Washington Metro area
and the Blue Ridge...the exact placement will be determine each
locations precipitation type and snowfall totals.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow...sleet...or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for

I'm with you John!

I had plans to pull out the old boat this weekend to get her prepped for sale (I'm bringing her to a broker but I want him to set a nice high price!) but now it's getting buried under what's predicted to be a foot (A FOOT!) of snow! Damn!!!

I could have handled this storm a week ago - I am now, officially, done with winter!

Keep thinking about Block Island in June - It helps me get through these days...

One quick glance outside confirms winter is still here in NW Connecticut.
Blowing pretty good, looks like at least 2 to 3 on the ground already...lots more to come unfortunately.

The view outside my window right now would be a beautiful winter scene, it it were Jan or Feb but not the middle of March. I AM SICK OF THIS WINTER! I am so anxious to get started with this boating season I can hardly wait. Lots to do on the boat and I bought a new docominium for my slip.

Welcome to March ! It will just make us appreciate good boating weather that much more (if and when it ever arrives this year).

UPDATE

O.k. This is it! Today is the last day of Winter. Time to break out the shorts and show off those pasty white legs. My wife was making fun of my "chicken legs". Doesn't matter what the temp is this weekend.
Don't look for me. I'll be "down the boat".

We only had one day of snowfall this year, but it stuck around on the ground for almost a week. Unfortunately, that week happened to be the one where I was in Florida. Go figure. I was slipping and sliding on my way to the airport as the first flakes fell, and then started to really come down. When I got back, it was almost all melted.

We've already had three 70 degree days this month, but last night it dipped below freezing. So unpredictable.
