Batteries

Post by kowal_53 »

It look like one of my NG-4Ds may be gone. The Exide Nautilus lasted for 7 years. The Local folks are pushing Deka, and I just do not have a history with those. They also said that the Exide quality is not what it used to be. Does anyone have a recommendation on a quality brand these days?

Does the battery switch have to on to change batteries off the AC charger?

Hi Rob,
My last purchase was the Odyssey brand in 2006. Still going strong.
I leave my switch on when charging.

If you have an Inverter/Charger - Yes
A standard charger - probably not as they usually have a separate lead running to each battery.

FWIW; I've had great luck with Deka Commercial 4D's.

We've also got Deka commercials on ours. The house battery is showing signs of low power, but then its not had any charge for a year!

The engine battery had a enough cranking power to start the engine first time. Thankfully, we can get them over here and when we replace, I am sure we will get the same again.

I exclusively use Odyssey batteries. No risk of gassing off or leaking. Can drain them down to almost nothing and charge them right back up again. Smaller than most other batteries. Will outlast most other batteries - by far. Excellent customer service. A little pricey but you get what you pay for.
