Post by James Grant »

Hi Folks:

Can anyone help me out in locating a door lock for the main cabin doors that I can latch from the inside.

thanks

Our doors have just that- latches. They're the basic hook into an eye. On our starboard side the hook is on the door; on the port side the eye is on the door. There is a slight rub of the eye on the doorframe when the door slides, but it created its own groove which doesn't show from the outside.

A picture is worth a thousand words. I got the latch at Home Depot, I think. Made the plate (3/8 in) in the door from a piece of aluminum that was laying around. I know, I over routed the hole the plate is in. Someday I'll find a larger piece of aluminum.
