Jabsco Electric Head troubles

Post by dkircher »

Having rebuilt my Jabsco Electric twice in the last two years, I am wondering if others have found these to be unreliable? It works fine for a few weeks, but then just stops. Now I only hear a click when I push the button.

Is there a secret cure? If not, I am ready to replace it. Should I go with a Jabsco manual or another brand? I do like the idea of an electric and the wiring is in..

Thanks.

Had an electric Jabsco head in my 2002 28TE and never had issue from new until she sold this past May. 12 years of flawless operation. Sounds like you got a bum unit.

Kevin,

Thanks. It turned out to be jammed because it was used without the incoming seawater valve open. I turned the motor shaft with a screw driver and voila, it works again. Your reply helped me keep the faith.

Sorry about the delayed reply. Too much happening these days.
