Hey all,
By now most of you know I'm having a less than stellar boating season. You've also suffered through my various "Meet ..." posts.
Well, I love writing them, so you get another one!!
Since the Albin heritage is Swedish, AND my engines are Volvos I named them. The Swedish twins, Pia and Stella. (Port and starboard. Clever, huh??)
Anyway, Stella is no longer with us. Details on her demise will only be forthcoming AFTER the last insurance check is cashed and repairs are completed. Which may be a while yet.
In the meantime a new Swedish sister is now getting ready for her place in Sonny's engine room. Meet Signe, the new younger sister!
Her name means "New Victory" in old Norse and I'm hoping she lives up to it! Right now she's in the shop being fitted with manifolds, cooling, transmission, etc, from her fallen sister. With luck she'll make the trip to the boat in another week or two and we will salvage our season with a Columbus Day cruise to BI. At least, that's the plan!
In the meantime, if you go to the Norwalk Boat Show, you can wave at Sonny as she sits in front of the marina shop building on your way in the front entrance.

Sorry to hear about Stella. She put up a good fight.
Jay is right...I would have been whining and complaining by now.

Be sure Signe tells her step-sister on the other side of the bilge to behave!

Re: Another introduction - Signe
Possibly your sense of humor has been bolstered by the afore-mentioned insurance check. Hope that takes some of the sting out of it. Looking forward to hearing the story when you're able to tell it.

Re: Another introduction - Signe
Thanks guys!
I just spoke to the mechanic. She's just about done. He figures two more hours of work, including a couple of parts arriving tomorrow and he should be able to test run her on Monday!!
Have my fingers crossed that all goes well. I've got a birthday coming up at the end of the month and I'd LOVE to be floating in a boat with two engines!!
