Does anyone have any experience with the Magma Infra Red Grills? I had a Magma Monterrey traditional grill on my last boat but now a thinking of buying the one size smaller, Catalina, in the Infra Red version.
Thanks

Re: Magma Infra Red Grill
We have a lesser (much) Magma model but have been happy with it. I have considered
a mount for it but so far it hasn't been a priority as it works well as it is. I do not want
to clutter things up and the drip pan has been effective. More than enough for two of us
but if we were to regularly cook for more than us I would probably consider a mount.

Re: Magma Infra Red Grill
I cooked on a friend's boat on his infra red, VERY hot, too hot...
rtgcwhite, have you considered the rod holder mount? I have one on my kettle grill and it works great.

Re: Magma Infra Red Grill
Rob,
Thanks for the first report on the infra red model. I was afraid of that. I called Magma and they said that they had redesigned the infrared to be easier to clean, which means larger holes in the plates. I did not address the heat issue but am not surprised by your experience.
I had my Magma Monterrey on thier double screw rail clamps. It never moved in 5 years of traveling.
The Magma Catalina is a smaller version of what I had and since I was extremely impressed with their qualaity I will buy that brand again...probably in the non infrared however.
