Oven Model and manufacturer?
Hi all,
I am trying to find information on my stove aboard Right Boat, a 1983 36'. Does anyone know what model and manufacturer's product Albin used? Thanks in advance!

Can you post a picture? Albin had a way of going all kinds of directions with their fitting out, but with a few hints I bet we can track it down for you!
And welcome to AOG!

Four burner Magic Chef, with oven, model number BT18JS-4Z, serial number P34747B9.
Parts seem to be available after getting over the hurdle where they tell me the serial number I gave them is incorrect, even though it's pretty easy to read. Ordered a new door handle and it fit perfectly.
I'd like to refit this with ignitors. If anyone has done this, please let me know. An appliance place here told me it's easy to do, but they want me to bring it in and I have yet to be that motivated.

Does anyone have a parts catalog for this one? My burners work fine, my pilot gets a flame, I cannot get the oven to ignite. I am guessing it could be the oven control knob - the supply tube, or clogged at the end...but woudl like a schematic before I yank it apart - especially if I need to get parts.

Re: Oven Model and manufacturer?
I actually found a PDF blow up of the Magic Chef at
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/01-ov ... 6js-4.html
Not everything is available, but it does give part numbers for hunting down items.

My oven ignites very easily, all I have to do is get on my hands and knees with a lighter and find the right place to set the fire.

Re: Oven Model and manufacturer?
We have to hold a butane lighter stick to the thermo couple (or whatever that gizmo is called) for about 10 seconds so it gets hot enough to light the pilot. Then it's fine.

I was using some matches from Key West that came with the boat until I broke down and bought a butane lighter. My fingers are much happier now.Despacio wrote:My oven ignites very easily, all I have to do is get on my hands and knees with a lighter and find the right place to set the fire.
