Really two basic options. Stern davits, which hinder the use of the swim platform to some extent. Or a crane on the bridge deck, which is more expensive and a bit more work to launch and retrieve.
My wife and I have made a priority of not having to jump onto the dock when tying up. So we prefer to keep the swimstep clear, as it is even with the floating dock here in the NW. Storing the tender up top works well for us.
