Not Long Now!

Post by Tree »

Well the final payment has been made on Fisher Price 2 and hopefully she will be shipped to Baltimore this week with a view to getting it on the ship to the UK on Monday with any luck!

Excited is not the word here! We've been without a boat now for nearly 4 months and that has been a seriously long wait, especially when you've had boats all of your life.

Hopefully it will be here and we can get it all up together before our summer season ends over here. Knowing my luck, it will turn up the week I move house - Arrrrrghhh!

We'll give her a wave as she leaves. What's the name of the ship?

John,

I suspect it will be on either the Athens Highway or Cheasapeake Highway leaving from Baltimore. Both of them very drab grey car type transporting ships. Either way I will be tracking it on AIS so I can be ready at the dock the next day to inspect the boat!

*edit The Athens Highway is currently in port at Baltimore now so I doubt it will be that boat.*

Not sure at what point in the delivery you are permitted to do so, but would be neat to see some pics as the big boat is pulling in, off loading, unveiling the container contents, etc. Heck, if you pay for my transportation I'll come give you a hand :D

Rob,

I'd love to do that myself but alas the ship will be docking at Southampton and my Home port is Portsmouth so the last leg of the journey has to be by road, simply as the docks don't have a crane to launch it!

I shall however, take photos as we unwrap her!

Silly question, from my hull serial number, how do I determine what build number mine is? I'm assuming its 489?

AUL28489L900

AUL = Albin
28 = 28TE
489 = 389th hull (Albin starts with 101, makes it seem like they build more)
LP = Hull laid Dec 99 (Jan - A, Feb - B, etc.)
00 = Model year

So much for it being not long to go! Finally we have a space on a ship, that being the Chesapeake Highway Sailing from Baltimore on Monday - then to Brunswick, then to Charleston, then to Zeebrugge, then to Bremerhaven and Finally Southampton on the 29th!!!!

I suppose there is one silver lining to it taking so long - i hope to to be moving house on the 23rd so one thing is the two won't clash.

ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH Just hurry up and be here dammit!!

Besides, the way things are going you'll be on your boat before I'm on mine!! :cry:

I even had some pictures sent to me last night by Infinity Marine - They're just teasing me now!

Thought i'd add one of my previous boat True Grit to the pile - the Albin is a different class of boat all together
