Courtesy Lights

Post by Yearwood »

Albin 28 PH - courtesy light under the helm seat is intermittent. Can it be pried out? How to access it?

Thanks

Thanks. Mine have none and thus I'm guessing a press fit.

Gently pry the trim ring off and then you'll know for sure. When I replaced mine with LED's I popped the ring off and no screws had been installed. Just secured with double backed tape. It's an easy swap out if Albin gave you enough extra wire to pull them out. If not you're crawling up and in through the deck access hatch on the starboard side or if you don't have one you're going through the center hatch. I went through the access panel in the deck at the helm and cursed Albin for the first 5 minutes as I cut and spliced wires. They saved .90 cents by not giving me any slack to work with. Damn boat builders!

Thanks. I'll try the pry.

Last removed the access hatch for the trim tabs control as again not extra wire.
