I am seriously considering to buy 1998 Albin TE with Engine Model: 98 KAD42PA230 DPDI Duo Prop, overhauled in 2006 and has 200 hours now. She is used in fresh water. According to the owner the engine has 270 HP and and fuel consumption is 5.2 gph.
I will use this boat in saltwater for offshore trolling and planning to leave her in the water (marina).
After reading through some older posts I am a little concerned with this type of engine.
Are there some new experiences or recommendations?

I too looked at the same boat before I decided what I wanted.
The Volvo engine is one of the best they ever produced, it is based on the AD41P set up with the DPE-E duo-prop drive - I would be happy to have this engine in a boat. However, from what I understand, these Albin 28's with duo-prop set up, were from my understanding prototypes made by Albin. I'm not sure if the Keel is still in place, I would assume that it isn't as this would cause cavitation on the drive.
I seem to recall that only a handful of stern-drive models were built and from what I can gather they are OK - but the general choice is a conventional shaft drive. One advantage with the drive model is a better use of deck space.
If this is the boat I am thinking of, the price is very keen and I'd say was a good buy. I have opted for the shaft drive model only because it would give us a matched pair of boats (even the colour is the same!) for when we are away with our friend who also owns an Albin 28 here in the UK.
One thing to bear in mind with Volvo is to keep on top of the Maintenance, these are cracking rock strong engines and drives so long as you keep the anodes, fluids and any perishable hoses underwater up to date in line with the service schedule. They've been about so long, they have proven the test of time.

Can we see some pictures? Are there many Albins in Turkey? Or are you bringing it in from somewhere else?
Funny enough I did see one Albin in Turkey with a new Yanmar in it that was for sale - might be interesting if its the same boat. That boat was out of my price range at 79,000 euros, hence why i am importing this boat from New Jersey.

sorry for my late response, I am always on business trips. when I get back to Bodrum-Turkey I will add some pictures. I think that there is only one Albin 28 in turkey and I am now the owner:) Very clean and nice boat !
By the first trials I made 20 hours and had a diesel consumption of 9.8 liters per hour. That is very very good. Esspeciaaly if you have 2.1 USd per liter in my country.
I am trying to add some flush mount rod holders to the gunnel and transom and 2+1 Bly Carbonfiber outriggers to the top with taco 1.5" mounts. I also want to add a chirp transducer (Furuno or Raymarine) I didn't decide yet.
