Fridge/ freezer

Post by mudskipper »

Happy to have my boat back in the slip. My old Norcold is not making the trip any more and is in mechanical hospice. I am trying to spec out an Engle .I understand they are good on power consumption and low noise .Anyone have any expirience with these units? Jay on Aquarius

Jay,

Our Norcold chilled it's last beer a few weeks ago. What model Norcold do/did you have? Ours was a 704. After lots of research and user reviews, we went with Vitrifrigo Model C115i. So far it's great! 4.2 cu ft., a light, 2.8 amps and totally silent Danfoss compressor. We went with DC only even though we are wired for both AC & DC (we never used AC on our last fridge). vfsales.net (Coastal Climate Control in Bowie, MD). AC/DC model also sold on defender.com (and plenty of other sites).

The Norcold must have heard that it was being sold down the river. over the weekend it came back to life and froze all my little carrots! Thanks for the advice.
