I'm re-caulking my decks with TeakDecking System one-part black caulk. The Fein multitool has been awesome in removing the old caulking, and I recommend it. My question is how to approach the seam between the quarter round molding on the cabin sides and the deck. It appears to be caulked with silicone or similar. I don't want remove the molding, but I want to make that seam as watertight as possible. My idea is to use my multimaster blade and cut a groove along the seam and then caulk with the black deck caulk. I can caulk the top of the quarter round with a thin bead of white. Does this sound okay or is there a better way? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: Teak decking re-caulking question
That sounds fine. I removed my quarter round and re-installed against caulk.

Thanks. Can't wait for the rain to stop......working under shrinkwrap is not much fun.
