In the yard, on stands. Stripping 30 yrs of bottom jobs, designing canvas, carpet, paint and a few electrical tweaks.
Should be ready to float by the end of May!

Looks like you've spent a lot of time working on your A25 but it will be worth every minute when she gets wet. Mine is still tarped waiting for this "late spring " to move off. Happy Sails.

That's it?
Just kidding, way to go, she's a lucky boat to have found you. I would assume you are doing all work yourself?
A Floscan, will there really be enough "Flo" to "Scan" ?

I'm doing some of the work, but I bought the boat at such a low price, I can have the yard do the labor intensive stuff. And the things that require a lift or really expensive tools. And things I don't have time to do. And things I don't have the skills to do!

Floscan makes a 0-5 GPH guage system, so it should do well at 1/2 to 1 GPH. Or, I may skip that and save $750!!

Planning a tri fuel Honda 2000, and maybe a Lehr 5hp propane outboard for a 8' Zodiac. No gas to carry nd store.
It's only money, right?
All done for under $22,000, boat and trailer included! Makes it hard to justify looking at shiny new boats.

$22k. Hmmm, think my generator install was in that neighborhood!!

She looks great. I'm looking forward to seeing her all done.

Keep us posted!

Robdog,

We just brought the 1971 Albin 25 we purchased that had been stored in a barn for years near Springfield, Illinois back to eastern Washington and are ready to start the same project you are doing. Would it be possible to get much more detail about the makeover, especially the cutless bearing and thru-hulls? We will be repowering with a Beta Marine 25 which will require going to a 1" propeller shaft and a right hand prop. All thru-hulls will be replaced or removed & fiberglassed.

These are the types of questions.
Did you retain the toilet discharge thru-hull?
What type of wet exhaust system did you use?
Did you relocate the exhaust port from below the water line to above the waterline?
Did you install a larger thru-hull for engine cooling?
And many more.

If others are not interested in the details, possible we could communicate directly.

I am not Robdog, but I am Rob

Care must be taken if you raise the exhaust port that an adequete downhill exhaust run is maintained from the mixing elbow all the way to the exit port to avoid seawater ingestion.

Feel free to keep all dialogue on the board, rather than direct, for the benefit of all members.

We're ALWAYS interested in the details! :)

Even though we may have different models and "vintages" we share a love of boats and working on them. I really enjoy the restoration posts and sharing thoughts on how to solve the various challenges AOGers come across in the process!

It really is a big part of what makes AOG such a great community.

I left the below waterline exhaust with a waterlock(sp?) muffler. New seacocks on air conditioning and engine intakes, bronze, same size.
Capped seacock for toilet discharge. Has 17 gallon holding tank on stbd side.
Wasn't there when they did cutless bearing, sorry.
I' ll post a full list shortly.
Great to have AOG as a resource!

Anyone have a mast for the anchor light? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Also, having new canvas made. I'm going with a black Sunbrella fabric, been told it won be as hot as I think it would be. We'll see about that one! Going to use the same design as another AOG members boat...
