Hello all, first time poster. I just started the process of owning an Albin. My offer has been accepted and the survey is this weekend. I'm thrilled and overwhelmed at the same time, it's my first inboard and diesel. Its a 2004 28TE w/engine box, with 590 hours on it, 1 owner boat. Boat just got treated to new Awlgrip hull paint, it's a beautiful boat inside and out.
As part of the offer, the marina has agreed to perfrom the 500 hour service on the Yanmar, including:
valve adjustment
raw water impeller change
timing belt
antifreeze
oil change
zincs
cutlass bearing
Beyond that, is there anything else I should have the surveyor focus on? Shaft seal? The batteries are massive, I believe 4D or 8D, what is the normal life expectancy for them? The inverter shows 1000 volts.
Thanks in advance, can't wait to get out on the water.

Welcome aboard, Rob. Sounds like a great boat. Hope you'll post some photos.
Have the surveyor check the limber holes and determine whether they're fully fiberglassed or whether there's exposed wood. It's probably on his list, but just to be sure. Also look carefully at the plywood platform beneath the holding tank.
