Broken weld on by Albin 28 railing in Annapolis

My port after railing flange weld has broken loose of the railing. Does anyone know who might be able to re-weld the flange in the Annapolis area?

Try Kato Marine. They make assorted metal things for boats and should be able to fix your rail. If not they can probably refer you to someone.

I'd be interested to know how you make out. We dealt with the port side (after assistance on this forum with a photo of the underside backer plate) by removing the damaged fitting, purchasing a close replacement where the railing was secured with two set screws, reaming the fitting to fit and reinstalling. Very difficult to reach the underside with the headliner, etc. removed. Not fun.

The railing is now fixed. About 5 hours of labor to remove, replace, and silicon. Most of the time was spent getting access to nuts. Kato Marine did the welding. (The cheapest part) Stainless covers for the head liner, so future access is a lot easier than the first time.

Which stanchion was it? I thought it was the port side aft most stanchion but that one is accessible just by dropping the aft bunk headliner panel...

You are correct to get to the last one, which was indeed the broken one. But the aft bunk head liner was not our first choice. We did take out the insert by the passenger seat first. All that hard to free up silicone took awhile. After that, the microwave, and the head liner on way forward.
