Hello Albin31Owners,
Wish to understand, what 'bilge pump' do you use in the keel section of Albin 31TE.
I wish to seek alternative as my current bilge pump is not effective.
Thanks,

Re: Albin 31TE 'KEEL Bilge Pump'
I had major problems with the keel bilge pump on Tuxedo. The screen on the strainer would clog preventing the water from being pumped out. A couple of times the screen rusted out, and the hose clogged. There always seemed to be some junk down there, not matter how much I cleaned it.
Finally, I took the strainer off, got a piece of PVC pipe, capped it on one end, drilled lots of holes all around it and installed it as the strainer. Never had a problem after I did that.
The pump itself was never the problem, just junk in the bilge clogging the hose.
(For fellow Albineers - this is on a single engine version)

Re: Albin 31TE 'KEEL Bilge Pump'
Hi Tuxedo,
Thanks for your advice !
I'm using the Whale Gulper 220 Diahragm bilge pump and Jabsco pump guard strainer.
After going thru all the maintenance inspection and cleaning .... notice major culprit is at the fully choke pump guard strainer. remove all the rubbish and all goes well for the time being.
Sea Trial went smooth without high level water alarm sounded, bilge water was pumped out regularly.
Will look into your recommendation of a improve DIY strainer.
Cheers !
