Rigging Station Modifications

Post by Halcyon »

Hi, the rigging station on my 35 has always bugged me because of its inefficient use of space. It measures out to almost 15 cubic feet but there are only 8-12 x 12 drawers 4 inches deep. The cabinet unit is nicely made and I am thinking of moving it to the lazarette for spares etc. Any recommendations for a supplier of a replacement door unit without the center stile?

One thought is to install a drop in cooler. Under the counter top there is a moulding in the fiberglass, maybe for a sink on a different model? Anyone know what this is left over from?

Alternately I'm thinking of a drawer in the area between the trim strip and the counter top. Any other ideas out there?
Thanks Trav

Maybe cut out the center stile, router the raw edge and have someone make two new doors 3/4 of a inch wider to make up for the stile.Just a suggestion.Bob
