yanmar engine

Looking at a boat with yanmar (1988) 4jhdte "natural" engine. Would parts be available for this engine?
And would it we fresh water cooled?

Had to Google it to be sure I was looking for the right engine. Boatdiesel.com didn't have it listed.

By "natural", I assumed you meant naturally aspirated (no turbo) but this engine is turbocharged. The 77 hp Yanmar was apparantly a popular engine in the 1988 A27FC. I've looked at one while shopping for one to call my own and it had this engine. Simple to maintain and a great running engine per the seller.

Yes, it is fresh water cooled.

For parts availability, Mack Boring in Union, NJ would be my "go to" source.
