Has anyone removed the cabinet over the sink where the drawers are and the micowave sits in??? if so how was it done. In trying to find the leak there is much damage to the wood slats that hold the vinyl which is stapled onto. would like to remove all the wood and replace but need to remove the cabinet in order to do so .... I have 1994 28T Albin thanks

Re: Cabinet removal????
Kevin,
I'm not real clear on what wood that has the vinyl stapled to it was damaged? If you remove your microwave you'll find there are no strips of wood covered in vinyl, just a wire track. I'm sure the same is true behind the drawers as well. I'd start by removing the microwave and drawers and seeing what can be undone from there. Look at my pictures for inverter installation and you'll see what I'm talking about. Also look at the one w/the fridge removed which shows the piping from the sink and where screws come thru from the cabinet above. Take pictures along the way....it helps when putting things back together, and we all like seeing other's success stories. Good Luck!!

Re: Cabinet removal????
I completed the following project (actually a great marine cabinet maker i hired did) involved complete removal of the cabinetry, sink, and refer. Replaced refer with great looking SS model operating AC/DC Would not recommend this for someone who is not a cabinet maker as my 1998 28 TE cabinet was not put together well enough to satisfy the Admiral and so was remade to her satisfaction. Can send pics upon return next week from business trip. Cabinet looks the same with the exception of removal of center bottom divider immediately above sink. Stainless sink really dresses up galley area. Also installed teak/holley sole covering entire cabin.

This is what happens when I start going through older posts - I find things I really would like to see! So, Jimbo, how about those pictures!JIMBO44 wrote:I completed the following project (actually a great marine cabinet maker i hired did) involved complete removal of the cabinetry, sink, and refer.
