Fresh Water inlet adapter

Post by Serenity »

I decided to make life easier for putting water and anti freeze in the FW tank. I made an adapter consisting of a 1 1/4" male adapter, a short piece of pvc tubing glued to a 90 degree elbow and another short piece of tubing to act as the fill tube. It works great and it creates a seal at the inlet.

I've given up on anti-freeze in the fresh water system - can never get the odor out even with many flushings.
I open the faucets and pump FW tank dry then,
I disconnect the hot and cold lines at the water heater and drain the heater. Then with the blower end of the shop vac blow the remaining water out of the heater (both hot and cold side)
Then with the faucets open blow the water out of the hot and cold lines.
Then add two half liters of inexpensive vodka (40 proof @13.99 ea. ) to the FW tank - in the spring fill the tank and have a drink.
